How does the login restriction work?

In order to better protect Square Enix accounts, login may be restricted on accounts whenever unusual activity is registered. Once applied, this restriction will prevent any access to the account until it is removed.

In this situation, an automated e-mail will be also sent to the e-mail address registered on that account containing detailed instructions on how to remove the restriction. In the unlikely event that you do not receive an e-mail, you can also regain access to your account by using the password reset function.

If for some reason your account is being restricted on a regular basis, you may wish to consider using a
One-Time Password which will prevent the login restriction from being applied.

New registrations for Square Enix Software Tokens were closed on Tuesday 21st November 2023.
Please consider using the other available one-time password options, Square Enix Security Token (key ring type) or Software Authenticator on your smartphone.
