[PS4] My save data has disappeared. How can I play Episode 3 without save data?
If you completed Episode 2 between January 24 and February 26, you may have experienced a bug which caused your save game file to be silently deleted. We are very sorry for the inconvenience this bug caused, and are pleased to say it has since been resolved.
If you have been affected by this bug, you may want to start Episode 3 in the following ways:
- If you subscribe to PS Plus, a backup of the save may exist in the PS Plus Cloud. Download this save data to your PS4 and you will start Episode 3 as expected.
- If you saved your data to an external USB drive, plug in this drive and transfer the save data to your PS4.
- If the game is able to identify that you suffered from the deleted save issue and no save data exists on the console, then you will be offered the choice to continue Episode 3 using one of 4 pre-generated save files. Each of the save files have their own set path through Episode 1 and 2 but you will not be able to edit any of the choices made previously. You will be able to choose the path which most broadly aligns with your own previous playthrough.
Please note that the surest way to recreate your personal world state is to replay Episodes 1 and 2.
