How do I uninstall the Steam version of FINAL FANTASY XI?

If you have installed a version of FINAL FANTASY XI purchased through Steam, then please follow the instructions below in order to ensure a clean uninstall and removal of all relevant files.
1. Highlight FINAL FANTASY XI: Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition (or any previous version of FFXI) in your Library list.
2. Right-click and select “Delete Local Content” from the dropdown menu to uninstall it.
3. Navigate to the Steam installation directory on your hard drive. (Note that it may be slightly different depending on where Steam was installed)
a. The default folder path for a 32-bit Windows OS is:
Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Common\
b. The default folder path for a 64-bit Windows OS is:
Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\Common\
4. Delete the “ffxi” directory found in the above directory.

This will remove any remaining FFXI-related files from your Steam installation and allow you to re-install, or purchase new versions of FFXI from Steam.
