Using the
Character Renaming Service, which can be found under
"Games & Additional Services" on the
Mog Station, enables you to rename your character for a fee.
How long does it take after the purchase until the name can be changed?
You will be able to change your character name on the character selection screen in the game immediately following the purchase, at which point you will also be notified by e-mail that your request has been processed.
Once a name change is purchased, you must change the character's name from the character selection screen to be able to log in with that character again.
Please note that in rare cases, it may take additional time for the request to be processed. If you are still unable to change your name 24 hours after you used the Character Renaming Service, please contact us directly.
Restrictions
Restrictions to the Character Renaming Service apply. The list below is intended as a general reference and does not include all conditions.
- There is no game time left on the service account
- The service account is still within the free 30 days trial period
- A Free Trial account is selected
- The service account is currently suspended
- The service has been used within the last 24 hours
- A Home World Transfer is pending
- The character has yet to accept the quest "
Close to Home"
- The character is not located on their Home World
You will find the full list of restrictions in the Character Renaming Service User Agreement. Please read it carefully before going ahead with your purchase.
Finally, please make sure that the name you choose complies with the FINAL FANTASY XIV User Agreement. If unsure, you can ask the Game Master team by sending a ticket from the game or from the Support Centre website. If you use the Character Renaming Service inappropriately and that the new name is changed by the Game Masters, you will not be refunded for your purchase.
