Real Money Trading (RMT) is the buying and selling of in-game data (items, characters, etc.) in exchange for real-life currency or services. This type of activity is prohibited in FINAL FANTASY XIV and, if verified, will result in a penalty taken against your Square Enix account. This can apply to both initiators and receivers of RMT transactions.
Examples of RMT include offering or receiving compensation for the following:
- Accounts
- Characters
- In-game currency
- In-game services
- In-game items
- In-game activities (such as selling dungeon clears)
