I am unable to progress in a sidequest.
Progression for sidequests is temporarily halted when danger is present such as when a town or village comes under enemy attack. Depending on how far you have progressed in the main story, you may not be able to further progress the quest, or the quest may be abandoned.
However, these quests can be resumed or accepted again by progressing further into the main story.
